2006 Silent Auction
It is time to start getting donations for our annual Silent
Auction! We know it’s a busy time of year, but we need YOUR
help to make this year’s auction a success. The 2006 Silent
Auction is being held on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at the Co-op.
It will be lots of fun for co-op families and friends, and with your
participation, can help us achieve our fund-raising goals.
We need your help soliciting donations. Businesses are much more
likely to donate goods/services to a loyal customer or someone they
know personally. Every time you shop, please ask if the business
donates to Silent Auctions. Most businesses are prepared for this
question and have procedures in place to handle charitable
donations. Ask for a donation when you:
Run an errand…Work out at the gym…Go out to
eat…Visit the Beauty Shop…Buy a Book…See a
show…Have your carpets cleaned…Or use any other service!
IT’S SO EASY WHEN WE ALL WORK TOGETHER!
Here is what you do:
(1) Look at the Silent Auction poster located at the
co-op. Sign up for at least 3 businesses that you would like to
solicit. Businesses that have provided donations in the past are
listed, along with the person who contacted them last year. Feel
free to write in businesses not listed on the poster, along with your
name as this year’s contact person. This process will help
us make sure that businesses are not solicited by multiple contacts.
(2) Bring the letter included in this packet to the
business. It explains the purpose of our fund-raiser, and informs
the business that their donation is tax-deductible. Extra copies
are available in a box at the co-op AND on our website.
(3) Fill out the donation receipt form included in
this packet. Please fill out the form completely and leave the
yellow copy with the business. The white copy should be deposited
in the box labeled “COMPLETED DONATIONS” at the
co-op. Extra copies of the donation forms are available in a box
at the co-op AND on our website. If you download the receipt from
our website, be sure to print 2 copies – one for the business and
one for us.
Our goal is to have all donations into the co-op by November 17, 2006.
In addition to business donations, co-op families have generously
donated their own items or services to the Silent Auction in previous
years. We definitely appreciate all donations that you think
other co-op families and friends would like to bid on! If you
wish to donate items/services, please fill out a donation form and
deposit the white copy in the “COMPLETED DONATIONS” box.
